Choose the country where you work in More › Preferences › Rights framework. Accommodated supports the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Ireland.
United Kingdom
The Equality Act 2010 includes a duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled workers in Great Britain. Flexible working and Access to Work are separate routes that may also help. Northern Ireland has separate discrimination law and processes, so check current local guidance before relying on a UK summary.
United States
The Americans with Disabilities Act covers many employers with 15 or more employees and uses the term reasonable accommodation. Other routes, including the Family and Medical Leave Act and state law, have their own eligibility rules.
Australia
The Disability Discrimination Act and Fair Work rules may be relevant to workplace adjustments and flexible working. JobAccess also administers practical workplace-support programmes, including the Employment Assistance Fund.
Canada
Employers may have a duty to accommodate disability-related needs to the point of undue hardship. The correct complaint route and detailed rules depend on whether the workplace is federally, provincially, or territorially regulated.
New Zealand
The New Zealand pack provides general reasonable-accommodation and flexible-work guidance with official links. It does not calculate dispute deadlines or generate formal complaints.
Ireland
Irish employment equality law uses the concept of reasonable accommodation or appropriate measures for disabled workers. The Ireland pack is a source-backed starting point and does not calculate Workplace Relations Commission deadlines.
What your choice changes
