Privacy Policy — Contexture

Effective date: 3 February 2026

Product: Contexture (iOS, iPadOS, macOS)

This Privacy Policy explains how Contexture handles information when you use the app. It is written in plain English. It is not legal advice.

1. Summary

Contexture is designed to be privacy-first:

  • Your content is stored on your device by default.
  • Optional iCloud sync is available if you enable it.
  • Contexture does not sell your data.
  • Contexture does not use your data to train models.
  • Contexture does not embed third-party trackers.

2. What Information Contexture Stores

2.1 Content You Create

Contexture stores information you enter into the app, including: Projects, context items (rules, decisions, preferences, constraints, references), decision rationale and alternatives (if you add them), and tags and metadata you assign (authority, scope, status).

This data is stored locally on your device unless you enable iCloud sync.

2.2 App Preferences

Contexture stores basic preferences such as: Selected project, onboarding completion state, feature toggles (e.g., iCloud sync enabled/disabled), and subscription entitlement state (Pro access).

3. What Contexture Does Not Collect

Contexture does not collect:

  • Advertising identifiers
  • Tracking data across apps or websites
  • Contact lists
  • Photos, location, microphone recordings, or calendars (unless a future feature explicitly requires it and you grant permission)

Contexture does not include third-party advertising SDKs.

4. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync: Your Contexture data may be stored in your iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit services. Apple may process this data to provide iCloud functionality. iCloud storage and security are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.

You can disable iCloud sync in Settings. If you disable it, Contexture continues to work with on-device storage.

5. Sharing / Exporting Data

Contexture can generate "context injection" text for you to copy or share. When you copy/share content: The content goes to the destination you choose (clipboard, another app, email, etc.). Contexture cannot control how other apps handle that content. You should avoid sharing sensitive information into third-party AI tools unless you trust those services.

Contexture does not automatically send your data to any AI provider.

5.1 On-Device Apple Intelligence (v1.0: Not Used)

Contexture v1.0 does not use Apple Intelligence or on-device Foundation Models. All behaviour is deterministic and based on your stored context and choices. If we add optional on-device Apple Intelligence features in a future version (e.g. explanations or suggestions), we will update this section and make them opt-in in Settings.

6. Payments

If you subscribe to Contexture Pro: Purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store. Contexture does not receive your full payment details (such as your credit card number). Contexture may receive information from Apple that confirms your subscription status (entitlement).

7. Analytics

Contexture does not include third-party analytics by default. If basic diagnostics are enabled in a future version, it will be: opt-in, clearly explained in-app, and used only to improve reliability (e.g., crash reporting).

8. Data Security

Contexture follows platform best practices: data is stored within the app sandbox; iCloud sync uses Apple's security model; access to your data is limited to the app and your device account. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for securing your device and Apple ID.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

On-device: You can delete data by deleting individual projects/items in the app or by deleting the app from your device. iCloud: If iCloud sync is enabled, deleting the app may not immediately remove iCloud-stored data; you can manage iCloud storage via your Apple ID settings.

10. Children's Privacy

Contexture is not designed for children and is not knowingly marketed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact support so it can be removed.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and provide notice within the app or the App Store listing.
