Access to Work helper

Access to Work is a UK government scheme that may fund practical workplace support for people with a disability or physical or mental health condition. It is separate from an employer's duty to consider reasonable adjustments.
What the helper does
The helper provides an eligibility checklist and calm prompts for information commonly requested during an application. Draft answers at your own pace, then use them when completing the official application.
What it does not do
The helper does not connect to or copy the live GOV.UK form, submit an application, store your National Insurance number or bank details, or guarantee that the official questions remain unchanged.
Waiting-time context
The National Audit Office reported an average Access to Work wait of 109 days in November 2025. That is dated historical context, not a current DWP service standard.
Raising a delay
DWP says complaints can include unreasonable delay. Start with the team handling the application. If the issue remains unresolved, follow the current DWP complaints process and check when the Independent Case Examiner can become involved.
