How PIP works

From the app’s English Help & Guide · Reference release 1.0.3

PIP (Personal Independence Payment) is a UK benefit for people with a long-term condition that affects daily life or mobility. It has nothing to do with whether you work.

Two components

Daily living (10 activities) and mobility (2 activities). Each is assessed on its own and awarded a standard or enhanced rate depending on points.

How scoring works

A health professional may recommend descriptors after reviewing the evidence. A DWP decision maker considers those recommendations and the other evidence, then decides which descriptor applies to each activity. Points are added within each component.
