Orthostatic test

How the check works
Find it in More › Preferences › Health › POTS, or schedule a reminder cadence so Today surfaces the check when it is due. Lie down while Metered listens for live Apple Watch heart-rate samples, then stand carefully and tap “I’m standing” when upright. Metered records the standing phase, can fall back to recent Apple Health heart-rate samples if live data is missing, and saves the result.
Today reminder
The Today card appears when your configured cadence says a new check is due. It is not meant to stay visible every day unless your cadence makes it due every day.
What it is useful for
Saved results can help you notice patterns over time and give your care team a clearer description of what happens when you stand.
What it is not
This is a short home pacing check, not a diagnosis. Clinical POTS criteria usually look for a sustained heart-rate rise during up to 10 minutes upright, interpreted alongside symptoms and blood-pressure changes. Stop the check if you feel faint.
