  • Your energy budget

How your daily spoon total is set, adjusted, and shown on Today.

  • Activity library

Where activity, energy tax, and recovery costs come from, how to customise them, and how Quick Add favourites work.

  • Categories

How to create, reorder, archive, and restore the categories used by activities, energy taxes, and recovery.

Your data

Keep a copy of important records before changing devices or deleting data. Optional sync and sharing are separate from files you choose to export. The Metered privacy policy explains what is stored and the available deletion controls.

More answers

Do I need an armband or a paid subscription service?

No. Metered runs on iPhone and Apple Watch — no Visible armband, no Welltory subscription, no external hardware. If you already have Apple Health data (sleep, HRV, cycle), Metered+ uses it to personalise your daily budget. If you don’t, Metered+ still works with the data you choose to log yourself.

Is Metered a subscription?

No. The free tier stays free, and Metered+ is a single lifetime purchase at £29.99 — pay once, keep the premium features. No monthly fee, no annual renewal, no auto-billing.

Can I import my data from Tended?

Yes — and it’s free. If you already use Tended for symptom and energy logging, Metered imports your history so your daily plan reflects months of context from day one. Tended import works on the free tier; you don’t need Metered+ for it.

What does Metered+ unlock?

Morning Signal from overnight HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep; personalised daily budgets and budget breakdown; crash and PEM pattern insights; spoon debt and deeper trends; weather, cycle, sleep, and recovery budget factors; learned and sensitivity-adjusted activity costs; sensory energy tracking; Live Activities; day templates and event planning; Doctor and OT PDF reports; and CSV export. The free tier includes planning, Apple Watch, widgets, Siri Shortcuts, Quick Needs, Apple Health integration, iCloud sync, and Tended import — those aren’t gated.

Does Metered provide medical advice?

We’re not a doctor. Metered is an energy planning tool — its budget suggestions and crash/PEM pattern insights are based on your plans, outcomes, and optional Apple Health context, not clinical predictions. Treat them as a useful nudge for pacing, not as a clinical assessment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

Is my data private?

Yes. Metered is local-first with optional iCloud sync in your own account. No analytics, no third-party SDKs, no Cocoacorn server. See the full privacy statement at cocoacorn.com/privacy.
