iCloud sync

iCloud Sync is optional and off by default. Without it, Accommodated uses the local store on this device. Backups and exports remain separate choices.
What sync does
When enabled, SwiftData uses Apple's CloudKit service to keep app records in your private iCloud database and make them available to your devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Cocoacorn does not operate the sync server and cannot inspect or recover your private CloudKit records.
Encryption and Advanced Data Protection
Apple protects iCloud data in transit and at rest. Advanced Data Protection increases end-to-end encryption coverage for supported iCloud categories and CloudKit assets. Apple documents that third-party CloudKit record fields must be explicitly marked as encrypted to receive field-level end-to-end protection, so Accommodated does not claim that every synced field is end-to-end encrypted.
Turning sync on or off
Changing the setting requires an app restart so Accommodated can reopen the correct store configuration. Turning sync off stops the app from using CloudKit for new writes after restart, but it does not prove that previously uploaded records were removed from iCloud.
Sync status
The Data screen reports observed account availability, recent send or receive activity, and recent issues. It cannot prove that every record has reached every device.
