SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) is a US federal benefit for people with a long-term medical condition preventing substantial gainful activity. Claims are heavily documentation-driven.
Decision process
The SSA runs through a five-step sequential evaluation. Medical evidence, work history, residual functional capacity, and information from people who know you can all matter. A personal diary can help organise your account, but it does not replace medical evidence.
