Periods (menstrual)

From the app’s English Help & Guide · Reference release 1.0.33

Track your menstrual cycle alongside your journal entries. Tended can detect patterns between your cycle and how you feel.

Enabling period tracking

Toggle “Periods (Menstrual)” in onboarding or in More › Tracking. When enabled, each entry shows a period toggle.

Logging period days

In the entry editor, toggle “Period day” to mark today. For new entries, you can also start or end a period. Tended tracks consecutive period days and shows your current day count.

Cycle insights

With enough data, the Insights hub shows how your symptoms and ratings vary across your cycle. The “Your menstrual cycle” card shows phase-based trends. This can be useful context for conditions with cycle-linked symptoms, including PMOS / PCOS, endometriosis, PMDD, and fibromyalgia.

Privacy

Period context and cycle estimates are private app records. They can sync through your personal iCloud account if enabled and appear in backups or outputs you choose. Compatible-app cycle sharing has its own controls. Carer Connections sharing excludes cycle data. Cocoacorn cannot access your records.

Record a period day

Record a period day if relevant to you.

If a field you want is hidden, enable it in More > Tracking. Only turn on what you want to use.

Record a period day: steps

  1. Check the date The guide opens a new journal entry. Check its date and time before adding details. You can also use this guide while editing an existing entry.
  2. Check the period controls For a new entry today, the period section uses Start and End. When backdating or editing, use the Period Day switch. Only record a period day when it applies.
  3. Review optional details Check the entry date and whether Period Day is marked correctly. Add symptom details or a reflection if useful. Enabling period tracking does not mark every date as a period day.
  4. Save your entry Return to the entry and tap Save. Wait for it to close. The guide completes only after the relevant new or changed detail is saved.

Only mark dates that reflect your own record. You can stop this guide without saving.

Record a period day: troubleshooting

If the guide has not finished, check that you changed the relevant field and saved the entry. Simply reopening an existing value does not count. If Save fails, keep the draft open and use Try Again.
