Share with Carer

From the app’s English Help & Guide · Reference release 1.0.27

Share your daily health data with a carer, partner, or family member in real time. They’ll see a summary of how you’re doing — your journal stays private.

What’s shared

Your carer sees your day rating, energy level, sleep quality, flare days, your conditions, and any condition explainer text you’ve generated with the Condition Translator.

Your journal text, symptoms, medications, triggers, foods, photos, cycle data, and correlation insights stay private. You can revoke access later.

Setting up

Open More › Sharing / Self-care › Share with Carer. Tap “Share with someone”. Enter any name or relationship that feels right to you, pick whether they’re a carer or partner, and tap “Create invitation.” Tended generates a private link. Send it via Messages, WhatsApp, email, or however you usually message them. They’ll need the free Supported app to accept.

Carer or partner?

You pick a tier when you invite someone:

• Carer — family, friend, or healthcare helper. • Partner — someone you live with or share daily life with.

In Tended today, both tiers see the same fields: day rating, energy, sleep, flare days, conditions, and condition explainer text. Journal text and detailed health logs stay private.

How it works

When you save a journal entry, Tended pushes your day rating, energy, sleep, and flare status to a shared space that the people you’ve invited can see. Data is sent via iCloud.

Sharing with more than one person

You can invite as many people as you’d like. Tap “Share with someone else” on the carer sharing screen to add another. Each person gets their own private invitation and their own connection to your data — revoking one doesn’t affect the others, and the people you’re sharing with can’t see each other’s names or activity.

If you set up sharing earlier

If you set up sharing before per-carer invitations existed, you’ll see a “Legacy share” banner at the top of the carer sharing screen. Your existing share keeps working — your carer won’t notice anything change. Tap “Move to per-carer sharing” to send a new invitation to the same person; their name is pre-filled.

Quick Needs broadcasts

Once you’ve set up sharing, you can also send single-tap signals to your carer — “I need quiet,” “I need water,” “I need help.” Configure the list in More › Sharing / Self-care › Quick Needs and send from the timeline, Apple Watch, or Siri. See the Quick Needs help topic.

Stopping sharing

Per-carer share: tap the carer’s row on the carer sharing screen to open their detail page, then “Stop sharing with [name].” They lose access immediately and need a new invitation to share again.

Legacy share: tap “Revoke legacy share” in the Legacy share banner at the top.

You can stop and start sharing at any time — your journal is yours either way.
