Tell my carer (Quick Needs)
From the app’s English Help & Guide · Reference release 1.0.27
Quick Needs let you signal a single short message to your carer — “I need quiet,” “I need water,” “I need help” — without typing or opening a conversation. Designed for severe ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and other flare days where lifting the phone is too much.
How it works
Once you’ve set up Share with Carer, configure your Quick Needs list in More › Sharing / Self-care › Quick Needs. Tended suggests needs based on your conditions; you can rename, reorder, add, or remove any of them. Each broadcast appears instantly in the carer’s Supported app.
Where you can broadcast from
• The bolt-heart button on the timeline opens a sheet with your Quick Needs as large buttons. • Apple Watch — pick from the same list on your wrist, no phone needed. • Siri — “Hey Siri, tell my carer I need quiet.” The Siri intent reads your configured list, so Siri only suggests labels you’ve set up.
What the carer sees
Your carer sees the label you sent (e.g. “Quiet”) and the time it arrived. Nothing else from your journal is included. Each broadcast is a single moment — they replace each other rather than building a feed.
If you’re not sharing yet
Quick Needs require an active Share with Carer link. If you haven’t set one up, Tended will gently point you to the Sharing screen the first time you try to broadcast.
