Connected apps is an optional, default-off way to share a local Tended journal summary with compatible apps on the same iPhone.
What Tended shares
Share journal summary publishes the existing activity catalogue and up to one year of permitted journal history. Day assessments are separate from timestamped entries, so rating-only dates have no invented entry. Connections, episodes, their notes and connected photos have additional inclusion controls and a preview in Connected apps. Existing journal sharing does not enable these new choices. Compatible readers cannot change Tended records. Unresolved records and unavailable photos are identified with their complete shared date window; those exclusion counts are not counts for a recipient report period.
Turn sharing on or off
Open More › Preferences › Connected apps, then use Share journal summary. Turning it off removes Tended’s shared summary. Information you previously chose to import into another app stays in that app.
Separate from other sharing
Connected apps stays on this iPhone. It does not turn on iCloud, change backups, share with a carer, or alter another app connection. Tended keeps working normally when it is off.

Review connected-app sharing: steps
- Open Connected Apps Read the Connected Apps explanation and available controls. Each app still works on its own.
- Inspect the shared information Review which summaries are available and the direction of sharing described on screen. This is separate from sharing with another person.
- Choose whether to enable it Enable only the connection you want. An installed compatible app does not mean you have enabled sharing.
- Finish your review Tap Done at the end of these steps, or open Guide details and tap Finish review. This finishes the guide; it does not confirm a setting change or transfer.
